The thing I was doing wrong was that I needed all of my div tags to be set to float left. I also did not need to apply the clear command. Once I did that things started working correctly. It feels good to have it working correctly now!Jim Brannstromhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00618533895252575218noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8352603364867770136.post-68783044586098082992010-02-16T23:23:00.000-08:002010-02-16T23:25:05.942-08:00I just messed around with the settings to personalize my blog. I added in some html to the body and sidebar. Spacey! Now I need to start thinking about what to do for my "____" Site. Lots of stuff to get done, can't linger too long on this project...Jim Brannstromhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00618533895252575218noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8352603364867770136.post-65867724517110760672010-02-15T11:38:00.000-08:002010-02-15T11:41:35.748-08:00School is busy right now. Lots of homework to stay on top of and someone gave me a cold last friday. I'm finally almost over it. I have some questions about placing items freely within a wrapper div. <div><br /></div><div>The Olympics have been fun to watch over the weekend. Go USA!</div>Jim Brannstromhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00618533895252575218noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8352603364867770136.post-40094215701537044802010-02-07T21:55:00.000-08:002010-02-07T22:08:48.064-08:00<div>Merry Monday, Way go go Saints! I think I will have to get the free grand slam breakfast at Denny's on Tuesday!</div><div><br /></div>This weekend I was able to create a portal page for our advanced web 1 class. I like the flash animation that I put into it. I figured out how to make the background of the flash file transparent so that you can see the html background used in dreamweaver. <div><br /></div><div>I also just finished up the homework for the cufon exercise. That took some messing around with because it turns out that in the header section I did not need to name the folder containing my .js files. All I needed to do was put in the two .js file names without a /js/ before them.<div><br /></div><div><div>It just goes to show how intense coding can be. Even with one little mistake, the entire script would not work. I was really happy when I fixed the problem. After fixing that problem I moved on to the next assignment for my javascript online class. I created a 3 state rollover button in about ten minutes, so I'm glad that I am all caught up at the moment.</div><div><br /></div><div>I'm looking forward to learning more about dreamweaver tomorrow.</div><div><div><div><br /></div><div>-Jim </div></div></div></div></div>Jim Brannstromhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00618533895252575218noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8352603364867770136.post-35143999753308039742010-02-03T00:16:00.000-08:002010-02-03T00:21:35.290-08:00Wow! Cory came to visit from Milwaukee. We worked on music from 1pm til 4am and created 2 new jams that really sound great. I'm listening to them right now!<div><br /></div><div>Tonight I burned the midnight oil and finished up my Sugar Records web page. I was able to get all of the list navigation on the bottom of the page to work. I even added a rollover color similar to what we did in class on the side navigation. The list navigation is key to get down because I am sure it will be something I will be using a lot on future work.</div><div><br /></div><div>-Time to get some sleep!</div><div>-Jim</div>Jim Brannstromhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00618533895252575218noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8352603364867770136.post-62059647314611650062010-01-28T13:39:00.000-08:002010-01-28T13:44:08.463-08:00Weekly postOh boy, another week, another post. What to blog about this time? Well I am bogged down with tons of homework at the moment. Trying to stay on top of it all, but sometimes I really need to take a break from the computer. <div><br /></div><div>At the moment I am creating a background to use for my flash animation home page. Once I'm done with that I have to do some research for a report in my marketing class. Good thing I already did my javascript programming for the week and I'm already caught up with my homework for Advanced web page 1 class. </div><div><br /></div><div>I can't believe how fast these 8 weeks are going, we are already half way done!</div>Jim Brannstromhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00618533895252575218noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8352603364867770136.post-3005310434012773062010-01-17T13:16:00.001-08:002010-01-17T13:17:10.695-08:00Wow 34 - 3 Vikings win and move on to the NFC Championship game. Not what I wanted to see! Thanks a lot Brent. We will never forget you!Jim Brannstromhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00618533895252575218noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8352603364867770136.post-32598563766477665752010-01-12T22:56:00.000-08:002010-01-12T23:00:01.099-08:00The Web Page ArticleThe article we had to read about how web pages are laid out was interesting. It all seems like common sense to have a structure that allows for easy navigation. The other article had some good points about how not to design your web pages. The over use of bold colors, sounds and hard navigation can lead to poor site design and loss of interest from people looking at the site. Sometimes simple is better.<div><br /></div><div>-Jim 1am</div>Jim Brannstromhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00618533895252575218noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8352603364867770136.post-19708292909996722962010-01-12T22:50:00.000-08:002010-01-12T22:56:13.202-08:00Week 1Advanced web 1 seems like it will be a worth while class to be in. So far I haven't run into too many snags when doing the week 1 homework. The only problem I had was in dreamweaver. I was trying to follow along with the tutorial and place ap div tags. My tags would not overlap. So I had to search around in the program for a while to figure out what was causing the problem. Finally I figured it out. When drawing ap div tags, make sure to have the prevent overlaps check box unchecked!<div><br /></div><div>Almost done with week one's homework! ~yes~</div><div><br /></div><div>-Jim 12:55am</div>Jim Brannstromhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00618533895252575218noreply@blogger.com1
